There are several restaurants within walking distance down the beach from the villa. They range in cost and cuisine from semi-fancy to very casual. They all offer outside eating within view of the ocean and sunset.

There are also several small towns within 20 minutes of the villa where you can get groceries, gifts, clothing, etc. Speaking Spanish is not a must to go there. Most of the people speak English or understand enough so that you can be comfortable.

If fishing is your thing, the Flamingo beach area boasts world records for marlin, sailfish, snapper, wahoo, tuna and rooster fish.

If you prefer diving, the northwest coast of Costa Rica brings you to underwater volcanic rock pinnacles. Colorful Cortez and King Angelfish, Pufferfish, Jewel, Moray Eels, Parrotfish, Sea Turtle are some of the species you might spot.

There are two seasons in Costa Rica:

  • High Season (Dry) runs from about November through March
  • Low Season (Wet) runs from about May though October.

Both seasons offer beautiful things to see and do. The wet season means it may rain for part of the day or not at all.
